1.- How do you want to go out?
I'd like to die nice and quick. Nothing fancy, maybe just a stroke or something.
2.- If you could take one person with you, who would you take?
Wow, this is a hard one...i don't want to take anyone with me, this is a one way trip that you have to do all on your own.
3.- What do you think is on the other side?
Sincerely? I do not believe in an afterlife, when you die, you brain goes blank and that's it. You may think i am a pessimist, but i could not disagree more, when you manage to get rid of the promise of an afterlife, you seize your life in a different way because this day could be your last one, so you have to get the most out of it.
This is an interesting question because, most of my art is focused on concepts that deal with the idea of a soul or spirit, it fascinates me, because i think that death and its mysteries are one of the biggest questions for mankind, that's why i try to rationalise it a lot and what you see in my work is the product of those internal debates. I decided not to believe in an afterlife, but that does not mean it doesn’t intrigue me.
4.- If you could choose, what would your last meal be?
A huge cheeseburger with fries. Or an enormous plate of Green Enchiladas with cheese.
5.- What's the last thing you want to do / or who is the last person you want to see?
If possible, i'd love to die doing what i love the most, drawing or painting and listening to music. Covered in paint, with my hands and my clothes stained. I would love to say goodbye to my friends and family but i definitely want to be alone when my time comes.
6.- (If there was one) What would your tombstone say?
"If i was wrong, i'll come back to tell you."
7.- If you could come back after death as anything, what would you be?
I'd love to come back as a bird. A sparrow.
8.- What's the last thing you would sketch?
Maybe a skull, or a bird. Or a bird on top of a skull. But i'm not sure.
9.- What's the last worst idea you would have?
I don't know...something really stupid like: "Crap, i'm dying, i have to tweet this!!!"
10.- What's the last artwork or related accomplishment you would think of?
I love it when i finish a piece, but sincerely, that is nothing compared to the process of making it, the time elapsed from the moment i start with a blank piece of paper to the very last second before adding the final touch to an illustration is what makes happier than anything in the world, so, if i'm gonna die doing it, i will probably be thinking about that particular drawing.
11.- What's the last thing you would get drunk on, literally or metaphorically?
Literally, beer. I love beer. Metaphorically...music, I love drawing, but music is the most sublime of all arts, in my humble opinion. So i'd love to die drawing while listening to my favourite songs and holding a beer.
12.- What's the last thing you REALLY wanted but didn't get?
Travel more. There are hundreds of places i want to visit before I die, so if i die today there is a chance i would feel dissapointed for not making more trips around the world.
13.- Last Words?
Enjoy life, regret nothing, find a passion and pursue it.
